Britax is the only way for us..I think they are on sale right now. We have the Boulevard (up to 65lbs), but the Marathon is good, too (also up to 65 lbs).
we also have the britax....it is a little expensive at first, but it is a great car seat, he is super comfortable in it, and it has the highest safety ratings. we ordered ours online at albeebaby.com, they usually have pretty good sales and free shipping.
We have the Radian- Sunshine Kids. Holds up to 80 pounds and is "slimline", which is fabulous if you need more than one carseat or have a kid with long legs. It is my hands down favorite.
Eddie Bauer and I love it. If I could afford it I would have gone with a Britax.
Both of mine are in the Britax Marathon. From what I understand, they are very high in the safety ratings.
BRITAX Marathon! :)
This is pretty much the one we have... Britax was too expensive but i hear great things about it!! http://www.safety1st.com/usa/eng/Products/Travel/Car-Seats/Convertible-Car-Seats/Details/1779-22158BLL-Alpha-Omega-Elite-Convertible-Car-Seat
ummm.. the one from our insurance company (Texas Farm Bureau) that cost $15!!! Ha! I think it is a Costco and it has been fabulous - we are saving it for Dash!
We had two different brands. I know Noah's was Costco and I belive Kayt's is Eddie Bauer. Both have been great.
the style we have is the Britax boulevard convertible....here is the link if you want to check it out http://www.albeebaby.com/britax-boulevard-converitble-car-seat-aqua.html
hope this helps a little...i know i was completely overwhelmed when we started looking for a forward facing carseat!!
we just got the new britax advocate and love it. we almost went with the sunshine brand- they looked great too. it's not cheap, but the safety is worth it.
I did a lot of research before we purchased, because we knew we would have it for a while. Campbell outgrew hers around 8 months (she's a looong girl!). We went with the Evenflo Triumph Advance. It was ranked second for safety after Britax in consumer reports and in one other safety rating I looked at. We absolutely had to buy two carseats, as we both tote her around pretty evenly, and couldn't really see spending the money on two Britaxs. We bought one Evenflo and were so happy with it we went ahead and got the exact same thing for our other carseat.
We have been really happy with it. She sleeps well in it too, which is a definite sign of comfort!
Congrats on another little boy!!
Luke's was Eddie Bauer, and it now belongs to Grace...and he now has a Cosco. They've both worked great and I'm glad I didn't spend a ton of money on either one.
We have a Britax boulevard convertible as well, it is really nice because it has head padding and when they fall asleep their heads don't flop over as much, plus it is extra safe. we got ours on amazon.com on super sale. they will put certain fabrics on sale for really good prices sometime.
Britax Marathon and we just upgraded Gage to the Britax Frontier (the marathon lasted from the time he outgrew his infant carrier until now and he is 4). Also we had that wreck in January going about 55mph and both kids were perfectly fine without a scratch on them.....so that made the money we spent on them worth it!
we have an Eddie Bauer and a Cosco... she seems to really love them both they are really comf and safe! K
britax marathon - ca"mooo"flage one. i love it & garrett loves it. plus it's cute!
